2026 Summer Application Now Open

For young people in the Cedar Valley, opportunity should not be limited by zip code, access, or circumstance. At SHIPHT, we believe every young person deserves the chance to explore their purpose, build real-world skills, and connect with pathways that lead to economic mobility and long-term success.

The SHIPHT Career Technical Education & Entrepreneurship Academy is a culturally responsive youth workforce and leadership initiative designed to prepare middle school, high school, and young adult participants for the future of work. Through hands-on learning, mentorship, internships, entrepreneurship, career exploration, and leadership development, SHIPHT helps young people build confidence, skills, and meaningful connections to their future.

Over the past several years, SHIPHT has supported more than 1,200 youth across the Cedar Valley through innovative programming focused on workforce readiness, creativity, technology, entrepreneurship, and community leadership.

What Participants Experience

• Paid internship and junior internship opportunities

• Career exploration in high-demand industries

• Entrepreneurship and business development experiences

• Financial literacy and workplace readiness training

• Leadership development and mentorship

• College and career pathway navigation

• Exposure to local employers and professionals

 

Participants gain more than technical skills. They build confidence, networks, communication skills, and a stronger vision for their future.

2026 Summer SHIPHT Academy

The 2026 SHIPHT Summer Academy will provide engaging, hands-on experiences for youth ages 12–24 across the Cedar Valley. Programming will include:

• Manufacturing and skilled trades exposure

• Healthcare career pathways

• Information technology and AI workshops

• Entrepreneurship and creative industries

• Financial literacy and soft skills Fridays

• Guest speakers, mentorship, and field experiences

• Internship opportunities with local employers

This summer’s academy is designed to help youth discover career pathways while developing the skills employers are looking for in today’s workforce.

We are currently accepting applications for the 2026 Summer SHIPHT Academy. Space is limited and early application is encouraged.

Youth, parents, schools, employers, and community partners are invited to connect with us to learn more about internship opportunities, partnerships, volunteering, and sponsorship opportunities.
